About us...

Welcome to Writer's Block and thank you for wanting to know more about the organization. Since the start of the internet, it seems that there are many whom have chosen the name Writer's Block or different variations of the name in an effort to find distinction. We claim no affiliations with any other group but support what most are trying to do. Their goals are usually similar to our own and the name does not define who we are.

The concept started in 1991 as a vision to help songwriters by combining their strengths and weaknesses to improve the group as a whole. The act of doing so inspired the name Writer's Block. It simply referred to a group or block of writers. That is what we were.

Since then life has put the group in contact with not only songwriters but with writers of many different creative passions. Most having the same thing in common; a dream to be and do.

The goals of the organization remain the same now as they were then:

Bring writers together in a social setting.
Combine the knowledge that each member has to offer so that all may grow.
Overcome the barriers that each writer faces by working together.
Identify the things that prevent success.
Promote the creative nature of mankind; whether it be music, poetry, or literature of another media.
Give back that which has been given to another member.
Have fun no matter what.
