While attending high school, Delrick spent every  lunch period practicing the bass clarinet. During that  three year period, he would manage to perform in regional, state, four states, and a national honor band. He also picked up the bass guitar  in jazz band along the way.

His first song was written to express his love and affection to a high school crush. Although it produced little more than a smile from her, it would be the start of years of expression in his life.

While attending college as a music major, the distraction of songwriting grew after being surrounded by others who had the desire to do and be more to the world.

With the help of friends, he released his first recording "You're a Part of Me" in 1991. The four song cassette was the first "dream to reality" event  which would later be joined with the release of "Living the Dream" in 1997, a collection of home recordings created as a demonstration in writing styles. Both act as check  points between now and then.

1991 would also be the year that Writer's Block was created. What was then an organization developed to inspire, network, and promote songwriting  has now become home to writers of all types. Writer's Block was published to the internet in 1998 at www.writersblock.com.

Today...Delrick is still living the dreams in his own life as well as living vicariously through the success and accomplishments of those who have graced this site with their talent.
